Relax in the splendour of this former C18th Georgian Convent school situated in the picturesque town of Harpenden. This attractive Grade II listed building overlooks East Common & is accessible to London, St Albans and Luton airport.

The hotel gardens are particularly attractive while stylish public areas include a restaurant with an impressive decorative ceiling. Some bedrooms and a large suite are located in the original house although most of the accommodation is in a more recent annexe.

Our hotel is located with easy access to the M25 motorway network, just within 25 minutes of Central London, with easy access from the M1 junctions 9 and 10 or by direct train to Kings Cross.

Local Attractions:
Roman Theatre of Verulamium (7Km) - The Roman Theatre was first discovered in 1847, but it was not until 1930 - 1935 that it was fully excavated. The theatre was used for religious rites, ceremonies and entertainments, and was capable of seating several thousand spectators.
Museum of St Albans (7Km) - At the Museum of St Albans you can discover the fascinating story of the historic cathedral city. The Museum of St Albans is also the home of the famous Salaman Collection of trade and craft tools.
Hatfield House & Gardens (7Km) - Home of the Marquess of Salisbury. The magnificent house, built by Robert Cecil in 1611, is full of exquisite tapestries, furniture and world famous paintings.
Cathedral and Abbey Church of St Alban (9Km) - St Albans Cathedral is an imposing former Norman Abbey Church set in the centre of the City of St Albans overlooking Verulamium Park. The present church was built from recycled Roman brick between 1077 - 1115.

Directions
From the North. Exit M1(J10) and follow A1081 to Harpenden (approx.5 miles). Go over mini roundabout through town centre, over next mini roundabout and turn left at next mini roundabout. The hotel is 200 yards on the left.

From the South: Exit M1 (J9) and take A5183 signposted St. Albans. Turn left to Harpenden on the B487. At the next roundabout turn left onto the A1081. Turn right at the next roundabout and the hotel is 180 metres on your left.
